Organics - Specialty Iodo-Organic Building Blocks
Several novel iodo-organic compounds are now included in the expanding line of synthetic building blocks offered by GFS and most are grouped together in the alphabetical section of this catalog. These additions come as a result of our developing expertise in converting common functional substrates into the corresponding iodide.
Organic iodides offer numerous advantages over bromide and chloride analogs, including
· Superior reactivity /kinetics for displacement reactions compared to the other halides
· Milder reaction conditions for displacement than required for most bromides/chlorides
· Ideal precursors for lithium-halide exchange reactions
